This moldy basement, needs a water vapor barrier and floor drainage system to go behind the walls. CleanSpace isn't only used in the crawlspaces we fix, sometimes if it's necessary we use it on the basement walls. These walls were leaking so bad we had to put up cleanspace to make sure the water goes into the floor drain and then into the sump pump.
This moldy damp crawlspace was in dire need of a vapor barrier system and insulation that won't grow mold. We installed CleanSpace as the vapor barrier system, and SliverGlo for insulation. CleanSpace keeps moisture and humid air out of the crawlspace. SilverGlo adds that extra step to completely controlling the air in your crawlspace. It has graphite particles in it to better reflect heat. Also it is made of inorganic materials that won't grow mold.
If you are planning on getting a deck, porch, or something similar to that you know that you will need support post. But just like your actual home the soil underneath of those post will settle in time as well. So if your cement foundation on a home cracks after settling don't you think the cement at the bottom of your posts will crack too?
You should take the precaution before building any sort of addition and taking the risk of it sinking away from your home or falling apart due to loose foundation. The Helical Pier is a great way to ensure stability for your new addition. These "post" are made of steel that resist corrosion and go deep into the ground. The Helical Pier is embeded into the ground with a machine that can also fit in tight spaces. For a stable footing or foundation call Foundation SupportWorks By DryZone for a free no obligation inspection!
If you've gotten a TrenchDrain system (perimeter drain) from DryZone we even make sure that if the drainage is clogged we have a small trap door so we can open it and clean out whatever is stuck in there. This way ensuring that you drain is always collecting water properly and getting it to the Sump Pump.
Look at this before and after of a clogged drain and how easily it is to clean it out if it ever does get clogged.
After you have made sure your basement doesn't flood or have leaking water you still want to continue to use products that are waterproof. Why? Well, what happens if your basement gets a leaky pipe or busted pipe or the sump pump fails? But if you get waterproofing walls and even flooring like this homeowner you won't have to worry about your walls or floors ever getting damaged by water or growing mold. This home got cleanspace on their walls and thermal dry matting tiles. These tiles are a heavy duty plastic and the bottom is design to let water drain underneath of them. Carpet can also be placed on top or you can leave them bare.
