Improving a crawlspace entrance with a high quality Turtl

The Turtl is a great way to improve on a leaky crawlspace entry. The old metal door rusts and warps, the entry well will fill up with water and mud. Thankfully the Turtl is air tight and water tight. It will keep all the rain and ground water out of the crawlspace.

Basement drainage system, concrete blocks completely filled with ground water

One of the things that the DryZone crew does during a WaterGuard installation is drill weep holes in the concrete blocks. All along the bottom of a block wall the ground water sits in the hollow blocks and slowly seeps out. This is a big reason why basements leak. The WaterGuard system is designed to relieve pressure and keep the water flowing in the pipes rather than all over the basement floor. In addition, there are clean out ports at various spots in the system. These ports allow you to see the inside of the pipe and clean it out if the need arises.

SmartJack crawlspace supports

When the wooden beams under the home get so wet that they become soft, the weight of the house will crush them around the existing piers. Drying out the crawlspace is a great way to prevent this. Installing adjustable SmartJacks instead of new concrete piers is a great way to fix it. SmartJacks resist corrosion and are fully adjustable. This allows the homeowner to achieve a slow and steady lift if the want.

Drying out the crawl space

A dry crawl space is one of the best ways to get your home healthier and more efficient. The wood support beams will dry out over time and become more rigid. The air conditioner and heating units will work more efficiently since it is easier to heat and cool dry air. One of the biggest differences people notice is the smells getting better. Mold and mildew are some pretty offensive odors, and the CleanSpace system helps to eliminate them for good.

Push piers close the gap in the wall crack

Before and afters are sometimes hard to show when it comes to foundation repair. Push piers are always covered up with fresh concrete. The wall cracks are never going to disappear completely, but getting a big crack to close up like in these pictures makes for a great visual. The push piers that DryZone installed were able to lift the entire wall and close the gap almost to the original position. The wall is now supported and warrantied for many years to come.
