Ever since this homeowner moved in, they noticed a crack in the basement wall. During dry seasons it was never a concern; however, rainy seasons quickly led to water leaking and puddles on the ground. After a while, this homeowner became frustrated with the inability to finish the basement or even use it for storage. They knew they needed a basement and foundation expert to take a look and help them fix this consistent problem.
With the instillation of Cleanspace and the removal of the insulation, this Crawlspace is transformed into an entirely new place which become not only cleaner but also much brighter.
Many homes have debris in the crawlspace. Its usually old wood, chunks of concrete, and insulation. Aside from being unsightly, they are a problem when installing our CleanSpace liner. In these photos you can see how much better it looks after the clean up.
When the vents in your crawlspace are "closed" they are still open. The fact is, open vents are a bad idea in the first place. All they do is let damp, wet air into the crawlspace and that leads to rot and mold. DryZone blocks and seals vents with a thick foam board (the same insulation we use to make the floors warmer). Sealing the crawlspace will lead to better air quality throughout the house and will cut down on the moisture and damp conditions that breed mold and invite critters and insects.
Everyone has tripped on a broken on uneven sidewalk at some point in their life. Most of you might recall a time in your childhood when you were running while playing and fell and skinned your knee after tripping on a bump in the sidewalk.
When this Cambridge homeowner came to us for help, this was exactly the type of thing he was trying to avoid. The sidewalk in front of his house was sinking over an inch in one spot. He looked up how to fix it online and came across DryZone's website. The inspector was able to discuss a few options for correcting the problem, and mudjacking the sidewalk slab was what the homeowner chose. A thick mixture of grout and concrete are pumped under the slab through a few small holes that the crew drills beforehand. Once everything is cleaned up, the sidewalk is good as new and back to being level with the rest of the slabs. Now it is no longer a major tripping hazard.
