These pictures aren't exactly "before & after" but more like middle and end. They shows how the WaterGuard basement perimeter drainage system is installed. This system is a subfloor system that rests on top of the concrete footing, rather than in the dirt next to it. Many other waterprooofing systems used by other companies will put a pipe about a foot away from the wall and in the dirt next to the footer. One thing to keep in mind is that the footer is what holds up the wall. If water is moving around in a pipe next to it, the dirt could easily get moved as well. That could weaken the structure of the wall, causing it to sink or crack. WaterGuard avoids all of that by essentially making the pipe a part of the floor. It is out of the dirt for another reason, less chance of clogging.
Lots of standing water contributed to the high humidity in this crawl space. Some of the air ducts actually got ruined because they fell into pools of water. DryZone installed some drainage pipes and sump pumps to combat the ground water. After the water management system was in place, the crew began on the vapor barrier. CleanSpace is a strong and durable crawl space liner that can stand up to almost any daily activity you can think of. Plumbers, electricians, and pest control companies won't hurt it by doing their work. In fact, they often joke with us about how relieved they are to see a DryZone sticker when they climb in because they know they won't get dirty while working.
This crawlspace had a screen door that was allowing the moisture from the outside to enter the crawlspace, causing mold growth. Our EverLast crawlspace door is a snug-fitting all-plastic door that keeps air and moisture from entering the crawlspace.
A crawl space with a dirt foundation holds water vapor and humidity which is released upwards into the house environment resulting in unhealthy air flow throughout the home.
A CleanSpace Encapsulation System separates the home from the earth which reduces the humidity level in the air, and eliminates microbial growth in your crawl space. When your crawl space air is clean, your whole house is clean.
This homeowner's crawl space door was made from wood resulting in a rotted and warped door. Wood crawl space doors are not suitable for any home because wood is porous.
A new Everlast Crawl space door is designed to replace leaky exterior doors. It's made from polypropylene plastic so it will never warp, rot or leak.
