Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Lincoln, DE Crawl Space Encapsulation
Joyce and Lester of Lincoln, DE, hadn’t noticed any major issues in their crawlspace, but they knew encapsulation was the right long-term solution for their home. After researching online, they contacted the trusted experts at DryZone to schedule a free inspection. Our System Design Specialist, Tom, conducted a thorough inspection and reviewed his findings with the homeowners. During the inspection, Tom discovered the crawlspace humidity was over 67%—well above the recommended 55% level.
The crawlspace encapsulation system included CleanSpace, DrainageMatting, a SaniDry Sedona, IceGuard, and a SmartSump. The SaniDry Sedona plays a vital role in controlling moisture, with a powerful capacity of up to 100 pints per day and the ability to circulate over 300 cubic feet of dry air per minute throughout the crawlspace or basement. DrainageMatting was installed beneath the CleanSpace liner to create a pathway for water to flow directly to the SmartSump.
With these solutions in place, Joyce and Lester can now enjoy lasting peace of mind knowing their crawlspace is protected for years to come. DryZone is proud to provide reliable solutions that protect homes across Delmarva.
Humidity Reading
The ideal humidity level in a crawlspace is at or below 55%. When humidity exceeds this level, it can lead to microbial growth, musty odors, and potential foundation issues.
Existing Liner
The negative effects of an unhealthy crawlspace can include high humidity, condensation, microbial growth, wood rot, insects and critters, cold floors, higher heating costs, and persistent musty odors.
Existing Liner
The existing liner was installed only on the ground and did not extend up the walls or wrap the piers.
DrainageMatting
DrainageMatting is installed beneath the CleanSpace liner to create a dedicated drainage layer, allowing water to flow efficiently to the SmartSump.
CleanSpace
CleanSpace will be installed along the foundation walls and wrapped around the piers to help control moisture seepage through the concrete.
CleanSpace
CleanSpace is a heavy-duty, 20-mil-thick liner manufactured with seven layers for superior puncture resistance, flexibility, and tear strength. It also includes an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh, which is molded directly into the material to help prevent microbial growth.
