Basement Flooring Done Right

Parquet style flooring

Imagine yourself in your basement that has been carpeted and finished with drywall for years. Does it smell bad? Are your feet cold? Notice fungus or mold growing anywhere, or everywhere?

These are common issues that the DryZone team sees in the humid climate of theeastern shore. Something that everyone should know is that any basement can get wet. Even in the most arid environments, we still have plumbing pipes and water heaters that can leak or burst.

One small piece of our Total Basement Finishing System that can help with some of these issues is called ThermalDry flooring. Carpet is a great product but like other traditional building materials it needs to stay dry to last.

Most carpets have organic materials in the glue or fibers and these organic materials will mold if the conditions are right. Here at TBF, we use an inorganic material in our ThermalDry flooring. It looks great and is quite functional. The flooring is slightly raised to allow the vapor to “breathe” under the flooring--an added side effect of this process is that it warms the floor a bit. Basically you will have a dry, warm and long lasting floor. Ever had to remove wet carpet? Its no picnic. To ease your worries, DryZone offers an unfinished ThermalDry flooring which has all the same benefits of regular ThermalDry and keeps your carpet up off the damp concrete, effectively extending the life of your carpet. As I stated earlier, ThermalDry is just one small piece of the TBF system. Stay tuned for more amazing products from DryZone!
