Camden Home Had Sagging Floors

A homeowner in Camden called because they had purchased an old home and the floors were sagging towards the middle of the house. DryZone was able to come in and help by installing the SmartJack Stabilizer. The before picture is what was holding up the home before DryZone was called, and the after picture is the SmartJack we installed for the home.

Nasty crawlspace fixed using the CleanSpace encapsulation system

These photos show the difference between a nasty, unkempt crawlspace and one that has been fixed using CleanSpace. The wet dirt has been sealed off from the rest of the house. All the nasty and wet insulation has been removed to get rid of the "mold farms" and smells. The beautiful white vapor barrier is sealed and basically continuous which means that almost no water vapor will get into the crawlspace. This will help to lower the humidity to make the whole house healthier and fell better.

Improving on a crawlspace door and adding some extra protection

This old plywood door had soaked up water over the years and wasn't a good sealed entryway. DryZone was able to install a heavy vinyl door that fits snug because it is built on site for each doorway. It will come off easily by removing the wing nut style screws. You can also see the white IceGuards which keep the sump pump discharge from freezing. There are 2 of them because this house has a TripleSafe sump pump system which requires 2 discharge lines. Lastly, there is a SmartVent flood vent on the right. These special vents will open and relieve pressure in the event of a major flood. Every other day, they will stay closed and keep out the moist air. When a major flood comes, if it ever does, the foundation walls aren't able to hold up under the massive pressure. So the vents help to save your home.

Nasty conditions in a crawl space

This crawl space has severe water damage. Most of the insulation was either falling or already on the ground. The sub floor was soaked from the moisture. DryZone pulled all the old insulation out and wrapped the crawl space with a heavy vapor barrier. A SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed to lower the humidity and get the entire space dried out. The difference was like night and day.

WaterGuard and a corner inspection port

When a basement floods there are a couple ways to fix things. The water isn't going to just walk out the front door, so you will need to force it out. The sump pumps that DryZone installs everyday are designed to be long lasting and very efficient. But how do you get water over to the sump pump? That is where the WaterGuard system steps in and takes care of business. WaterGuard sits on to of the concrete footer, but still below the surface of the basement floor. What this means is that you won't see it, but it won't be sitting in dirt either. Since the WaterGuard drainage pipes are sitting up out of the dirt under your home, less dirt and debris get into the pipe. Less dirt means less clogging. Just in case there is a clog, the WaterGuard system is equipped with inspection ports. The after photo shows a corner inspection port, which can easily be lifted to show the inside of the pipe. If you ever see dirt or debris, you simply flush it out with a hose. The water goes off to the sump pump and then out of the house.
