Our System Design Specialist, Tom, conducted a thorough evaluation and confirmed the presence of standing water, as well as humidity levels above 73% well over the recommended 55% benchmark.
The crawlspace encapsulation project included CleanSpace, DrainageMatting, a SmartSump, and a SaniDry Sedona. The SaniDry Sedona is a powerful dehumidifier with a capacity of up to 100 pints per day and the ability to circulate over 300 cubic feet of dry air per minute throughout a crawlspace or basement. This homeowner reached out to us because they were worried about high humidity and mold causing issues. We went out and added a sanidry sedona to ensure that the area stay healthy and free of mold and humidity.
This homeowner gave us a call because they had some concerns with the structural integrity of their home. They are looking to move into this home full time and want to ensure all structural issues are addressed. Pilot town engineering also came out to take a look per the request of the homeowner and provide their recommendations.
While we were taking a look, we noticed the crawlspace was encapsulated by another company. We also noticed water stains on their product which we brought to the homeowners attention. While looking at the structure of the area, we noticed most of the piers were separated from the girder, pilot town recommended the installation of metal shims. Some of the piers look to be leaning, so we will need to correct those as well.
Ultimately, we installed our smartjacks support system, a supplemental beam/girder and floor joists to correct the structure issues. To address the water issues, we installed a smartsump system, ice guard to prevent floods from clogged or frozen discharge lines, lawnscape at the end of the discharge line and cleanspace with drainage matting to encapsulate the area.
After seeing us at a home and craft expo this fall, this homeowner in Frankford, DE decided to see what was going on in their crawlspace. The homeowner never thought to check underneath their home for signs of water or the effects of moisture.
After DryZone inspected their space, they found out that mold and moisture had affected some of their floor joists.
We installed our CleanSpace crawlspace liner with a condensate pump and a dehumidifier to help keep water out and control any moisture underneath the home. We also ran a 20 foot discharge pipe outside from the home to a LawnScape outlet, where water can escape out and away from the home.
We also installed a sister floor joist underneath the home to stabilize the floor because of the water damage that occured from an uncontrolled crawlspace.
Now this homeowner can worry less about the effects of moisture underneath their home and feel protected!
