This homeowner was concerned about losing insulation in their home with winter approaching. In order to fix this for them, we had to ensure that the vents were the right height since the house is in a flood zone. We had to block 2 of the vents that were not the right height and install the flood vents around the house.
Gravel floors in crawl spaces are great for drainage. However, water vapor from groundwater easily goes through the gravel and does little to regulate the humidity under your home. This homeowner knew they needed something to help drain water from the crawl space in rainy seasons, but failed to realize the humidity from groundwater lingers beyond rainy seasons. A result of this constant humidity was starting to show in how the crawl space started to smell. DryZone noticed, during the free inspection, how the humidity was starting to affect the floorboards and cause some signs of microbial growth. To help this homeowner, DryZone installed a vapor barrier to stop the water vapor from groundwater from entering the crawl space and feeding microbial growth.
