Please allow me an opportunity to report to you on how the crawl-space encapsulation and sump pump system is operating since the installation approximately on year ago, December 2007.
If you remember, I had a significant water problem under my home and with years and of warm moist conditions, where unbeknownst to me, resulted in wood rot, structural weakness and termite damage, My house was in trouble- and, the cost to remedy the situation was staggering, I had to hire a specialist to re-support my home structurally and replace many of the floor joists or suffer the consequences of floors collapsing. I had to re-insulate the entire underside of the home and I had to hire an exterminator to deal with the insects. Needless to say, I was determined never to have a moisture problem again. There has already been several times when I had 6-12 inches of water under my house in the crawlspace that required me to rent a high volume pump to drain the water. But living in a high water table area close to the ocean meant that I was going to have this problem over and over again if I didn't take serious steps immediately.
In December of 2007 I hired your firm to install a total perimeter sump pump system and the DryZone encapsulation system to seal my house off from ground water that is ever present in my area of the coastline of Delaware's beaches. Since the installation, I must say we have not had enough consistent rainfall over a course of several days where the water became much of an issue. Days have gone by and the underside of the house seems to be fine and have had little need for the sump pump system. I can?t say that I have ever heard it kick on since the installation.
That was until this week past! I arrived to my home in Ocean View to discover yards and yards of homes in the neighborhood flooded with standing water. The drainage ditches along Rt. 1 were full to the brims. I could see that the water level in my back yard was at one point at least 4-6 inches up the side of my shed which already stand several inches off the ground. We obviously had some serious rainfall of the course of several days. And, the sump pump under my house was pumping water out at a furious pace of once every 30-45 seconds for hours. All through the evening I could hear this pump working. I knew that there was a lot of ground water that pump was dealing with. Honestly, I was scared to see what it looked like under my house, but I knew I had to open that sealed hatch to see what had happened.
Well, I want to tell you that I have never been so elated in my life. The underside of my house was BONE dry. Absolutely, totally, edge to edge, top to bottom DRY. And that pump was doing its job fantastically. The encapsulation system kept the water under the plastic liner and the interior was as warm and dry as can be. So, here's testimonial for you and the fabulous job that the DryZone encapsulation system has done for me. I am thrilled with the results and now I know that I can rest assured that my house will be safe from water and moisture damage in the future.
Many thanks for a GREAT job very well done (and worth every cent it cost me!) |
