Buying a new home can be a fun experience. However, when this homeowner bought their home, they noticed sticking doors and windows on the first floor. Sometimes they wondered if they would have to cut doors to prevent them from getting stuck. After an inspection report was sent, they were told DryZone could do repairs on their weak foundation. A DryZone design specialist visited the home to see what could be done to fortify the home and prevent the floors from sagging and causing sticking doors. Smart jacks were installed in the short crawl space to hold up the floors and raise them to be level again.

This crawl space was in rough shape. Standing water caused a humidity issue that was impacting the home in several ways. The most obvious effect of the water and high humidity was the drooping and degraded insulation which had to be removed. Even more disturbing was the growth of mold along the floor joists. The project took several days to complete as there were many steps involved: removal of insulation, Mold-X application and the installation of Clean Space and humidifier. Team DryZone came and removed the damaged insulation and floor debris. We also applied Mold-X to the floor joists which removed the stains from the previous mold growth and also helped prevent future mold growth. Clean Space with Drainage Matting and Clean Space Pier Wrap helped prevent underground water seepage. The final touch was a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier which will control humidity going forward. The project took several days to complete as there were many steps involved: removal of insulation, Mold-X application and the installation of Clean Space and humidifier. The concrete sidewalk leading up to this Ocean View, DE home is experiencing issues. Instead of the concrete levels staying the same, there are areas of sinking concrete slab.
