CleanSpace Advantages: Part 2

Last time I went over how CleanSpace is super thick and sturdy. This liner will protect your crawlspace for years based on that quality alone. But there is another few aspects of CleanSpace that I’d like to illustrate today.CleanSpace encapsulation system

Ultra Fresh…

Even though CleanSpace is a plastic vapor barrier and cannot grow mold all on its own, the plant life in the crawlspace can die and start growing mold. It is this fact that prompted the developers of CleanSpace to add a product called Ultra Fresh to the liner. Almost everyone is already familiar with Ultra Fresh and they probably don’t even realize that they are. It is the same stuff added to the air vents in cars to prevent mold from growing. It is a vital component of the CleanSpace liner because all sorts of weeds and bugs will live in the crawlspace. When living things die, the mold spores in the air start to attack. Ultra Fresh inhibits this process, and that will keep your crawlspace clean and smelling great.

UV light protection…

All CleanSpace has a UV blocker built right in. Most people think this is a useless aspect since the liner will be under the house and away from direct sunlight. Try to think of it like this, the liner has to be created above ground, stored above ground, and cut to size above ground. In fact, most of its time leading up to the installation date is spent out in the sun. The UV protection keeps the sun from breaking the liner down. As an example, 6-mil liner has no UV protection and it starts off supple and flexible. Take a look at that same cheap liner after it has been left in the sun for a little while and you’ll see that it is brittle and will crack easily.

These two aspects are equally as important as the strength and durability of CleanSpace. You wouldn’t get the full benefit of a crawlspace encapsulation system if any one of these parts were removed.

DryZone can properly install CleanSpace, a 20-mil poly-reinforced crawl space liner that will keep your crawl space dry and protect the area against mold and structural damage. Get a free quote now to see how we can turn your Maryland or Delaware crawl space into a clean, healthy space below your home that you can actually use!
